Matt and Mandy’s Famous Salad-Holly Jensen

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ingredients:

4 Slices of Bacon
1 Pkg. [6 oz.] Baby Spinach Leaves
1 Can [11 oz.] Mandarin Oranges
1/4 C. Sliced Almonds

Dressing:

1/4 C. Sugar
1/3 C. Vinegar
1/4 t. Salt
2 T. Canola Oil

1.  Wash your hands.
2.  Get out a big bowl to make your salad in.
3.  Have an adult help you cook the bacon in a large frying pan.  When it’s done put it on a paper towel or napkin to cool.

4.  Put the spinach in the bowl.  Drain the mandarin oranges, and put them on top of the spinach.  Crumble the bacon, and sprinkle it and the almonds on top.

5.  Mix the dressing ingredients in a small bowl.  Pour the dressing over the salad and mix lightly.

Toffee – David Seely

1 cup real butter

1 cup sugar

2 Tbls water

4 oz milk or semi-sweet chocolate, shaved

Grated pecans or walnuts

 

Cook in heavy pan, stir constantly at a rolling boil for several minutes until brown (starts smoking).  Pour onto a sheet of foil and spread to 1/4 inch thick with spoon. While it is still hot spread chocolate over and sprinkle nuts on top.  Break into candy size pieces.
