Applesauce Crunch Cookies-Norma Horton

2 cups sugar

1 cup shortening

2 cups applesauce

2 tsp soda

3 1/2 cups flour

2 tsp nutmeg

2 tsp cinnamon

1 tsp salt

2 eggs beaten

2 cups quick oatmeal

1 pkg choc. chips

1 cup chopped nuts

Cream shortening and sugar, beat eggs and add. Add soda to applesauce and stir into batter. Sift flour with nutmeg, cinnamon, and salt, Blend into batter. Add choc. chips, oatmeal, and nuts. Drop by teaspoonful on greased cookie sheet and bake for 12 min at 325 degrees.
